The Photographers' Formulary Potassium Iodide used in preparation of mercuric chloride intensifier, It has the property of reducing emulsion fog, dissolving iodine. Note Stable under ordinary conditions of use and storage. On long exposure to air becomes yellow due to release of iodine.
