Parents who are looking for a family activity that even young children can enjoy will like the Zoo Mania card game. The game involves matching cards (numbered, in bold colors, and illustrated with zoo animals) in players' hands with those in the deck. Once a match is made, the player gets rid of his or her card. The object is to finish the game with no cards or a low number of cards. Children get a chance to practice skills of number, color, and animal recognition. Cards are the size of playing cards and illustrated with colorfully comic renditions of four different zoo animals. Also included are a number of wild cards, such as the Stampede card or the Danger card, that present other game challenges. For friends of the zoo and their folks, this is an excellent alternative to the tube.
