Zipangu Ii - Japanese Boiling Contemporary Art

Zipangu introduces the work of lesser-known and up-and-coming Japanese artists who inherit the DNA of Japans traditional art, but whose free-spirited and energetic styles of expression are not confined within a conventional framework. Within this exhibition catalogue are works by more than 30 artists representing an impressive range of media and styles, including Kumi Machida, Manabu Ikeda, Ryuki Yamamoto, Akira Yamaguchi, Makoto Aida, Tomoko Konoike and many others. Texts by Seongjun Ko, Takeshi Yamamoto, Sumie Shibata, and Sueo Mizuma and Tetsuya Ozaki provide critical insight alongside artist biographies and numerous full-colour plates.
