However, remi's path begins with separation and ends with a family reunion, with a series of concurrent trials that ultimately lead to the missing familial paradise… trials based on loss, not unlike the first moment of separation, as though the author wishes to say that self-evolvement and emotional and psychological maturity cannot be attained without loss.
