The scope and purpose of, When Hollywood Rules the Skies, Volume 3, limit itself to the specific segment of the World War II genre from the wartime "flag wavers," to the immediate post-war studies in realism, and finally to the more thought provoking films of the 1950's era and beyond. It will study the radical changes in aim and purpose that these films have undergone in the past seventy-two years, and give special emphasis not only to the stories themselves but also the stories behind their making and the people who made them.
