Wheeler

Born in Ireland in 1860, Wheeler emigrated to Canada at an early age with his parents and brothers and sisters. He was the first surveyor to provide a complete map of the icefields and peaks of the Rogers Pass region, Beginning in 1913 he was instrumental in initiating and completing the mapping and surveying of the backbone of the Rockies from the US border to Mount Robson. In 1906 he was instrumental in establishing the Alpine Club of Canada.
