We Knew a Man of Ireland [signed] [first edition]

Father Dermot Dwyer had the music of Ireland in his voice and could tell a story better than any man I ever knew. In his stories, and through the laughter, an obscure truth would become easily understood, a lie would be sent packing, the fog of illusions blew away and the landscape became clear. So, above all, I believe he rejoiced in being a teacher. The truth, or better said the Truth, Christ Himself, was who he longed to bring to people, and it was the passion of his life that Jesus would be known and loved. Over the 15 years that I knew him he would often say, "The greatest of all is the one who serves." There is no doubt in my mind then that he has his place among the greatest, for he served us well. The sole purpose of this book is to provide a pathway for Father Dwyer to keep on doing what he did so well: opening hearts to the knowledge and love of Christ. Samples of the wisdom and love of this good priest are presented in the following pages in the hope that, through the Divine Mercy of God, Fr. Dwyer can go on bringing people to Jesus the Christ.
