A book reflecting the author's experiences at the end of World War II at the Battle of the Bulge and then 171 days of brutal interrogations and a 600-mile forced march through Germany during the waning days of the war. But it is more a relfective analysis of the ethical, political and personal issues involved in the war and man's propensity for war. It is an attempt to understand war.
