First ‘fuel up’ by turning the lever on top of the cab. Then ‘start’ the engine with the shifter in ‘idle’ and see four pistons moving realistically under the folding hood. Open the cabin door to find a fully functioning steering wheel, and even a working gas pedal. Ready for a ride? Shift the transmission into ‘forward’ or ‘reverse’ and watch your truck head back to the fields for another load of hay. This truck also includes a set of custom additions, including a Tanker, a Fire Ladder, and a Trailer Chassis. The Tanker includes a unique opening mechanism, designed to fit tin cans. Just twist the knob and it unfolds! The Fire Ladder also has several controls. Press the lever to lift it up, turn the platform to the right or to the left, and fix the selected position with a special ratchet. Ascend the ladder and you’ll get a real crane with hook at its end. There is even a little ladder to help firemen to climb on the truck. Finally, the Trailer Chassis has wheels with realistic springs that swing while you drive. There’s even a special rack underneath so that it stands independently. These detailed and genius little models are built from eco-friendly wood, and are assembled and powered with just your hands, no glue or batteries required. The style is what’s known as “Rubberpunk,” meaning a perfect blend of clockwork and steampunk, deliberately designed to have a raw, open look so even the casual observer can appreciate the marvels going on inside.
