This book contains a collection of short essays, in which the author attempts to understand human nature as he has seen and experienced it, having worked as a long-time physician, university professor, and researcher concerned with ethics and medical anthropology (medical anthropology). The first chapter deals with the nature of communication between people, human nature, including types of active listening, the link between happiness and intelligence, research discoveries, coincidences, negative automatic thoughts, and more. The second chapter contains articles on (medicine and medical ethics), and how the nature of pathological symptoms reflects the culture of the patient. The third chapter focuses on medicine and literature, in which the author writes about Al-Jahiz’s diseases, depression between medicine and literature, medical diagnoses in Arabic and English literature, and so on.
