Tressage Large Bowl

Bamboo, banana, coconut palm leaves, from the caribbean to indonesia via madagascar, the braiding of these leaves is a real art of basketry. Ancestral know-how requiring only fresh leaves and excellent dexterity, it is used daily through baskets, baskets, hats, fences and decoration. The daum creation workshop explores this custom by adapting it to the modeling technique. The earth straps were braided and then reshaped into vases and bowls. Leaves of different essences intersect, mingle, and all yet slender with their freshness draw baskets where to place cut flowers or just harvested fruit. To recall the exoticism of the islands whose braiding is still in use, these vanilla flowers decorate and perfect these works of patience and beauty.
