Chinatown is a residential Village, a capital City for Bay Area Chinese population and a major visitor attraction. Each of these concerns results in a different set of transportation needs.In addition, Broadway, Stockton Street and Kearny Street serve as major commuter corridors for a number of downtown employees. The functional needs of Chinatown itself and vehicular access needs in relation to downtown can be in conflict with one another.
