Facsimile representation of the large wall-map in two hemispheres made by Jodocus Hondius the Elder in The Netherlands. The book tells the story of the copperplates of the map and their use and reuse by Hondius, his sons and Nicolaas Visscher, as further geographical discoveries were amde and taken into account. This very large format book presents four chapters of historical background information and then reproduces the map in twenty sheets.
