A volume in honour of Abd al-Hamid Sharaf (1939-1980), Prime Minister of Jordan from December 1979 to his premature death at the age of 40, exploring the themes and ideas he pursued, as well as the trends, events, and problems which shaped his generation. A renowned career diplomat, Habib (1920-92) was an authority on Southeast Asia, President Ronald Reagan's personal representative to the Middle East, and a special envoy to some of the world's most dangerous flash points. In 1982, Habib was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation's highest civilian honor. A near fine copy in a bright and glossy dust jacket.
