This a valuable reference book for primary (age 3-6) Montessori teachers wishing to round out their own general knowledge, and their classroom lessons on biology, the arts, physics, history, and geography. Practical life, sensorial, and language lessons are repeated within each section so that the adult can focus on one area at a time. Although the main emphasis is on the child from age 3-6 years, there is also information on teaching these subjects in the infant community and the elementary class. The Montessori glossary is extensive and helpful and there are two articles, previously published in international Montessori journals, that help the reader fully understand the concept of "cosmic education," which is a method of connecting all aspects of culture, and life in its fullness, in preparation for the human being to find his or her own productive and enjoyable place in the whole.
