Series Title: The Making of Scotland. 'The Peoples of Scotland' is the second in a new series designed to create lively and accessible introductions to important themes in Scottish history, incorporating the latest archaeological discoveries and up-to-date interpretations of the evidence available. Each part contains colourful and detailed illustrations, including specially commissioned reconstruction paintings, as well as in-depth features on important features of the historic landscape. 'The Peoples of Scotland' is produced by Connongate in association with Historic Scotland, the government body dedicated to safeguarding Scotland's most important historic sites. Series editor Gordon Barclay is a Principal Inspector of Ancient Monuments with Historic Scotland and each of the authors in the series is an acknowledged authority in the history and archaeology of the period they cover.
