The Organ Thief

This novel is about a surgeon who takes drastic measures to cope with the shortage of donor-organs needed to save patients' lives. Although his intentions are good, his methods are highly unethical and illegal. Meticulous in his diabolical schemes, he confounds the Boston Police Detectives assigned to the case. He ramps up his activities to increase production, working at a frantic pace. Still, there are never enough organs. Dr. MacDonald is a calculating, dispassionate man without mercy for his victims. They are simply a means to an end and entirely dispensable. Illegal organ sales in the USA alone are estimated at a staggering $1 billion dollars annually.
