The danger of language in shaping the identity of a people and in documenting their ties to the nation is not hidden. Language is a verbal and written means that is used to form thought, and its development is dependent on the development of the mind, as it is impossible for thought to develop unless it is accompanied by a linguistic development that absorbs everything new and occurring in it. Cognitive development depends on cultural communication, as no thought emerged and progressed to the ranks of advancement apart from translation and acculturation, whether literary, scientific or philosophical. As long as language is a human product, it interacts with its surroundings through influence and influence, and its death or life depends on the death or life of its people. Translation is the factor that bridges the cross-fertilization of knowledge between the products of others and the particularities of the self, as it makes itself the first means of cultural interaction, as it was and still is, alongside other means, the most prominent channel for transferring knowledge between nations. It is the door through which the foreigner enters the local culture, and it has a great impact on directing its thought and developing its language. What we have devoted extensive time to in this book of ours is to show the impact of transmission and translation on the language and thought of the Arabs in the past, as well as the influence of the Arab language and thought on translation in the modern times, revealing how translation - past and present - plunged the Arabs into new worlds of knowledge in which they had not previously encountered, and stopped them on the production of The minds of other nations, opening the doors of scientific knowledge to them, and how it advanced them beyond the limits of their cognitive horizon, highlighting how translation activity worked to direct the intellectual practice of the Arabs, and change the direction of their thought in ancient and modern times. We then made an effort to demonstrate the impact of translation on Arabic and how it led to expanding its horizons, as well as how the impact of translation on the pattern of Arabic thought led to a development in its words and a change in its pillar.
