The Cross My Only Hope

The Cross My Only Hope is a gentle story of conversion. Leon Holmes describes his time as an atheist in college, recounts how he came to Christ and journeyed through a variety of Christian denominations, and finally explains how that journey ended in the Roman Catholic Church. Leon originally wrote the book to answer his son's question: "Why is our family Catholic?" Along the way, he answers a question many others have as well: Why would someone who still deeply loves his Protestant roots join the Roman Catholic Church? In the final chapter, Susan's Side of the Story, Leon's wife recounts her journey alongside Leon. It was difficult, because she was raised to believe that Catholics are not really Christians at all. While Leon was working through the arguments, Susan was learning through relationships. But the final step they took together. Theirs is a story of how God's grace can work not only in but through a faithful marriage.
