This book will provide you with basic information on how to choose a dog and how to train a dog. Owning the right dog is a pleasure. Owning the wrong one can present problems. If acquiring a dog is a new experience, before you begin the search, attend dog shows and talk with exhibitors. Ask about coat care and which breeds require professional clipping and trimming. Talk with dog handlers and trainers. They work with all types of dogs and can tell you the breeds that are gentle and those that are more difficult to train.
