The City That Fell To Its Knees: Personal recollections of the Canterbury earthquakes

Christchurch, in the Canterbury region of New Zealand, was a sedate and serene garden city, a model of Englishness in the Antipodes. The city and its residents were utterly unprepared for the series of earthquakes that began in September 2010, which eventually destroyed much of the city centre and left thousands of residents living in broken homes. Jenny Adamson lived through those earthquakes and documented what was happening as it happened, on Facebook and in emails and message board posts. This book brings her posts and thoughts together into one person's experience of a natural disaster that still affects the people living in Christchurch today.
