This book answered universal questions in a way framed in a special way for younger people. Because Toynbee answered these questions to a group of students from Kyoto University, it becomes a dialogue between East and West. The book is made from seven essays in which Toynbee, the eminent historian, examines the present with a eye to producing a peaceful and profitable future.
