Stories From the Manzano Mountains

Judy Alderete Garcia is the editor and publisher of Memories of Torreon, New Mexico a collection of stories from the people of Torreon, New Mexico where her parents, grandparents, great-grandparents and great-great-grandparents lived. In Stories from the Manzano Mountains, the author’s second book, the reader will find more first-person storytelling from the people of Torreon, Abo, Manzano, Punta de Agua and from some of the other small towns in the Manzano Mountains. Alderete Garcia’s books are rich in Hispano culture, history, genealogy and traditions. These books not only give the reader great insight into the past of the Hispano people but also to their present. Alderete Garcia has a Bachelor's Degree from the University of New Mexico with a double major in Spanish and Women’s Studies and a minor in Chicano Studies.
