Wood screws are used to fasten and secure two pieces of wood together. The oval undercut head is very similar to a flat head screw but has a rounded surface. The undercut provides a shorter head providing the screw with a longer thread than a standard flat head screw of the same length. The slotted drive has a straight-line notch grooved into the surface the head and is designed to be used with flat-headed screwdrivers.
