This guide accompanies the Documentary Spit'in Anger produced by Fathers Incorporated.Men and fathers who face and confront their hurt, pain, and anger toward their own fathers by facingtheir pasts are on a brave and long journey that not many men or women take.This workbook is not intended to “cure” the emotional wounds left by your father. It is one of many toolsyou may choose to use in the process. You can use this workbook and the exercises we suggest on yourown as a personal journal or guide and may find it helpful, but we strongly suggest you do not do theseexercises alone or in isolation. We all need the wisdom and insights of others—this accelerates thehealing process and keeps us honest and accountable for our own behaviors. Some of the exercises mayseem silly or unproductive and you may resist them. Keep in mind that we often become most resistantand find excuses to not do things, when we are closest to making real progress. To help overcome this natural resistance, we suggest you use the workbook in a group setting with other peers, or you may use it with a friend, partner, pastor, or in combination with therapy.
