First edition, inscribed by author on title page. Book and dust jacket have very light wear. Illustrated boards. Sub-sub-title: It's Mean, Iit's Personal and It's Ruining Our Conversation. a study of that "tone of teasing, snide, undermining abuse, nasty and knowing, that is spreading like pinkeye through the media." And now with the advent of Twitter (and more anonymous venues on the internet), we see mass hysteria, instant judgment without pausing for facts and/or evidence and the extreme joy of destroying someone's reputation in its milder forms and their lives and/or livelihoods in extreme instances. All this with a holier than thou attitude and not subject to consequences. It has even reached the Department of Justice and other government agencies and will only get worse no matter which party rules. Anyway, nice copy of this book.
