Side Launch: The Collingwood Shipyard Spectacle [signed] [first edition]

Canada's Spectacular Avalanche of Steel - an event at Collingwood, Ontario, on the southern shore of Georgian Bay. This awesome spectacle occurs twice each year when a 9,000 ton steel-hull vessel is side-launched from atop a building berth into a narrow basin of water. This book, the author's contribution to Ontario's Bicentennial celebration, traces the history of the spectacle and expains in full detail the unique engineering techniques and equipment required in side-launching huge seaway-size ships.
