How To Apply Lower Back Pre-Cut Tape
Lower back pain is commonly aggravated by prolonged sitting or standing and activities that involve hinging at the hips, such as vacuuming. SpiderTech’s Lower Back Pre-Cut kinesiology tape provides effective pain relief as well as spinal support and alignment., so you can continue doing the things you love. Here’s how to apply a Lower Back Spider.
Unfold the Spider. Fold and tear along the perforations marked by black lines. Make sure to tear through the paper and don’t pull the paper off the tape.
Hold sections two and three on one side and peel the backing of section one off halfway. Fold the paper back on itself to create a tab. Remember to avoid touching the adhesive in this process.
With the patient standing upright, centre the tape Spider on the lower back. Section two should come up along either side of the spine.
Rub over the tape to make sure it adheres to the skin.
Hold all other sections up against the back and peel off the remaining backing of section one. Lay down and rub the rest of the tape.
Ask the patient to bend forward and stretch out the lower back (or tuck their tailbone in if stretching causes discomfort).
Tear off the backing of section two and lay the tape on either side of the spine without any stretch. Repeat on the opposite side.
Tear off the backing of section three and lay the tape angled towards the armpits with no stretch. Repeat on the opposite side.
Rub over the entire Spider to ensure adhesion.
When the patient stands upright, you should see ripples in the tape. This indicates the tape is lifting the skin and relieving pressure in the area.
