"Hi, everyone!" This is Ruth Bartlett speaking. My good friends call me Ruthie -- and you can call me Ruthie, too! Welcome! Welcome! to my Adventures in Friendship. Y'know, I never wanted to go to that church picnic, or anything at church. But something happened at that picnic . . . something happened there and . . . yes, it was strange and . . . well, not WONDERFUL then -- oh, no, it was anything but wonderful then, but when my parents . . . and her parents . . . . I tell that whole story in one Adventure, but first comes the Adventure of making friends with . . . an unusual lady, that summer my family went away.
