HARANO SUR Harano Sur is a 1957 film by Ajoy Kar, starring Suchitra Sen and Uttam Kumar, with music by Hemanta Mukherjee, and sung by Geeta Dutt. The film is regarded as one of the finest examples of Bengali cinema of the period. An amnesiac after a train accident, Alok Mukherjee (Uttam Kumar) is rescued on escaping from the asylum where he is admitted by doctor Roma Banerjee (Suchitra Sen) who takes him to her father's (Pahadi Sanyal) country house in a village called Palaspur. There, while treating him she falls for him and he for her. They marry but a second accident makes him recall his life as a rich businessman in Calcutta and forget the memories spent with Roma. Roma follows him to Calcutta and meets him there but he doesn't recognise her. He hires her as governess to his niece instead. Roma keeps trying to simulate Alok's memory but is looked at suspiciously by Lata, Alok's fiancee in Calcutta who thinks Roma is snatching Alok away from her and who complains to Alok's mother. The latter has Roma kicked out. Alok realizing she is from Palaspur and that is where he got back his memory goes there and regains his memory of times spent with Roma there. All's well that end well. ALO AMAR ALO The movie is about a poor family of parents and five siblings. The family's household responsibilities are carried out by the eldest sister. At the other end is a high ranking official and a social worker who is also a womaniser at the same time. Taking advantage of the family's poor condition he pays them for letting him their elder daughter for the pleasures of a night. Accidentally, she loses her memory. Meanwhile, he develops feelings for her and helps her get her memory back. She forgives him for all his crimes and goes back to him as she also realizes that she has fallen in love with him. GRIHADAHA Suresh & Mahim were two childhood friends, but there was vast difference between their livelihood and religion. Mahim was a poor guy with a small hut and little bit of land left back in his village. For that he needs to depend on Suresh for his further studies as Suresh's parents on Suresh were very rich. Suresh a doctor where as Mahim waited for his result of Law examination. In the moontimes, Mahim coved, Achala, a Brahma girl and their marriage got fixed by her father verbally. This did not influence Suresh, So he want to Achala's house to save his friend from a Brahma girl. But instead he fell in love with her at the first sight. So he kept on going to Achala's place making one excuse or the other and finally he was able to convince her father in fixing her marriage with him. But Achala, managed to run away from her house and got married to Mahim and went to his village. But sadly Achala suspected Mahim for having a relationship with a girl named, Mrinalini. In the meantime, Suresh travelled to Mahim's village but suddenly a fire broke out at Mahim's house one night. According to Achala's request, Mahim sent back Achala to her parental house with Suresh. In the process, Mahim suffered from severe fever and he was treated and later cared for by Suresh. They decided to go for a change but willingly Suresh guided Mahim to a different train and made Achala come with him intentionally. Situations got them depicted as husband and wife which they couldn't accept . At last Suresh suffered from plague, while he was visiting a diseases affected area and died. Mahim and Achala once again got reunited by clearing out all their confusions. KAMAL LATA Kamal lata (Suchitra Sen) was a ��boishnobi��(Vishnu worshipper). In the ��akhra�� of Dwarika Devo (Pahari Sanyall). She lived and worshipped ShriKrishna . Gahar Miyan (Nirmal Kumar) was a poor Muslim singer and also a narrator of the Ramayana. He used to come to the akhra and discuss his writings with Dwarika. Kamal lata and he became good friendsand Gahar fell in love with Kamallata. In the mean time Srikanto (Uttam Kumar) who was Gahar��s childhood friend came to stayed at the akhra. Kamal lata got the responsibility to cook for him. Kamallata fell in love with Srikanto. One day she proposed to Srikanto and told him her story that she was a daughter of a Jamindar . In her childhood, she got married to a person who was also named Srikanto who died and Kamal lata a.k.a Ushangini started to live a widow's life in kolkata. She entered into a relationship with a certain manager and incidentally became pregnant. The manager denied to marry her and Ushangini changed her name to Kamal lata. After that Srikanto left for Kolkata. Kamal lata was blamed for having relation with Gahar and sent away from the akhara. Srikanto came back and come to know everything. He wanted to take Kamal lata with him but Kamallata disagreed and went to Vrindaban.
