Its native 40Hz-20kHz response is complemented by a selectable high-pass filter at 80Hz, which effectively prevents low-end noise from sources like air conditioners and traffic from being recorded. The level settings, located below these controls, allow for attenuation or boosting of the recorded level as needed. The -10dB level attenuation (or PAD) is perfect for recording loud sound sources, such as live music or motorsport events, while the +20dB level boost is specifically designed for use with DSLR cameras. This feature allows users to reduce the camera's preamp level (or mic-input level), effectively minimizing the amount of noise generated by the camera's audio circuitry.The VideoMic Pro uses a standard-sized shoe mount for on-camera use and includes a 3/8" thread in the base of the mount for easy boom pole mounting.
