Rocks, Ice, and Water - The Geology of Waterton-Glacier Park

Glacier National Park in northwestern Montana and Waterton Lakes National Park in Alberta display a rugged beauty that provides a living memorial to international cooperation and goodwill.These parks, comprising 1,800 sq miles of the northern Rocky Mountains, exemplify the meaning of "natural park." Maintained here for the appreciation and understanding of mankind are picturesque peaks and valleys sculptured by glaciers long ago, nearly 50 living glaciers nestled in high natural amphitheaters, more than 200 lakes enlivened by clear streams, lush forest, a profusion of wildflowers, and an abundance of wildlife.
