The Ricoh Theta Z1 is the latest generation with advanced features, higher resolution and the same award winning design! The Theta Z1 is targeting photo enthusiasts, panarama and street view photographers and businesses including real estate, tourism, venues, solar mapping and used cars. The newly developed lens, 1 inch imaging sensor and imaging processing algorithms have helped to create high quality images in 7K resolution. High Resolution 7K Still Images The Theta Z1 can record high-definition 360½ images in 7K resolution 6720x3360 (approximately 22.5MP). The automatic DR compensation (Dynamic Range compensation) reduces blown highlights and while increasing shadow detail even in harsh lighting conditions and achieves a superior perceived resolution 1-inch Imaging Sensors Provide High Sensitivity Shooting with Low Noise Equipped with 1-inch back illuminated CMOS imaging sensors with an equivalent output pixel count of approximately 22.5MP (6720x3360), The Theta Z1 achieves the highest still image ISO level of ISO 6400 and demonstrates superior noise reduction performance even when shooting in dimly lit conditions which require higher sensitivity. Theta Z1 images have significantly less noise, better detail and higher contrast. Triple Folded Optics Lens Technology The Theta Z1's slim and sleek space saving design is created by using RICOH's unique triple folded optics technology. As a result, this achieves a slim body that is a mere 24mm in thickness (not including the lenses) while being equipped with two full-scale 1-inch CMOS sensors. Improved Image Processing Algorithms Achieve more Natural Hues The algorithms have been completely remodeled to obtain higher quality images with highly perceived resolution and low noise from low to high sensitivity. The camera automatically decides to use highlight compensation (DR compensation) during normal shooting with the auto mode and reduces blown highlights while increasing shadow detail, even in harsh lighting conditions. Improved Image Processing Algorithms Achieve More Natural Hues Equipped with various shooting modes, such as "Multi-Bracketing Shooting" for continuous shooting with up to 19 settings. This function is also used to capture HDRI images. HDRI is the rendering of computer graphics scenes by using lighting calculations done in high dynamic range (HDR). This allows preservation of details that may be lost due to limiting contrast ratios. Interval Composite Function is used for recording star trails or to capture overlay lighting from image to image. HDR Rendering Function achieves more natural hues, thanks to the improved image algorithms. Design and Operability The organic EL monitor on a compact body enables you to see at a glance shooting information such as the battery level, shooting mode, remaining number of images, Aperture and ISO. Use the function button to easily switch between "Normal Shooting" and "Self-timer Shooting". Save the capture settings that were set from a smartphone on to the camera as "My Settings". This allows the user to register shooting conditions for both still images and video separately and then switch between these conditions on the camera. The design of the Theta Z1 is a slim, lightweight magnesium alloy body. It now contains a 1/4" metal tripod socket for increased durability and supports USB-C 3.0 which is fully reversible so the plug can go in either way. Creativity and Extensibility The Theta Z1 is the first Theta to support RAW DNG capture. The newly developed Ricoh Theta Stitcher is an app the enables stitching during image processing which will be provided free of charge. After developing files recorded in RAW format, you can create spherical images without visible stitching lines or defects when using the plug-in. Enhanced Functions Using Plug-ins 3 plug ins can be added into the camera. Install the 3 plug-ins and quickly change between them simply by pushing the Fn button making it much easier to use. A plug in for USB data transfer enables you to move captured data stored on the camera to a USB memory device. This allows you to free up space for the camera's internal memory. Utilize wireless streaming. Connect THETA to a wireless LAN access point to enable live streaming over the Internet without the use of a computer. Wireless cloud upload while using wireless LAN allows you to upload still image data stored on THETA to be uploaded directly to Google photos. Inherited Functions and Improved Performance The Theta Z1 has inherited and improved many functions from the Theta line. It has improved the Video and Live Streaming 4K at 30 fps. 3-axis Stabilization has been added to provide shake correction when shooting video. It is also possible to capture fine-detailed videos with the newly added Av (automatic exposure prioritizing aperture), Tv (automatic exposure prioritizing shutter speed), ISO and M (manual) to the exposure settings when shooting video. Inherited functions include 360 spacial audio, 4K streaming and wireless live streaming, the qualcomm snapdragon processor, Bluetooth BLE, wireless LAN client mode and Google Street View mobile ready.
