Contains 56 posters in black-and-white, and 16 posters in full color; 17 film stills and other illustrations. Includes notes, readings, and index. The index includes brief biographical sketches of the artists. American-born Mildred Constantine Bettelheim (1913-2008) worked at the Museum of Modern Art from 1943 to 1971, and was an associate curator in the 1950s and 1960s. Alan Maxwell Fern (born 1930) served as chief of the prints and photographs division at the Library of Congress.
