Dual LiteRing

The Reflecmedia Dual LiteRing is designed to fit snugly around the camera lens to provide perfect illumination of the Reflecmedia Chromatte background for chromakey production and is available in 2 sizes ('small' and 'medium') to fit many different size camera & lens systems. The Dual LiteRing features high performance surface mounted Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) arranged in a robust circular casing with a tuned diffusion to create extremely even illumination without causing discomfort to the subject. The Dual LiteRing is powered by the Reflecmedia Dual LiteRing Controller that allows the user to switch between blue or green output. 256 steps of dimming control are available with last setting memory for fast setup and instant switch over between colors. Dual LiteRing Controller The Reflecmedia Dual LiteRing Controller is designed specifically for the Reflecmedia Dual LiteRing & allows the user total control over the power source and litering output. The Reflec media Dual LiteRing must ALWAYS be powered & controlled with the Reflecmedia Dual LiteRing Controller. Other controllers may damage the LiteRing and invalidate product Warranty. Connecting the Dual LiteRing to the Dual LiteRing Controller The LiteRing is fitted with a 3 pin XLR plug on the end of a flying lead. Insert this into the 3 pin XLR socket on the LiteRing Controller, ensuring that the plug is latched to prevent accidental removal. Always connect the LiteRing to the LiteRing Controller before connecting power or switching the controller on. Once connected, always stow any excess cable neatly. If the 3 pin XLR plug or socket is damaged, return the unit to your Reflecmedia dealer for repair. Powering the Dual LiteRing & Dual LiteRing Controller The Dual LiteRing Controller is tolerant of a wide range of input voltages, from 7.5 to 12Vdc. It is recommended for Studio use that the Reflecmedia 12V mains adapter (RM5224) is used to provide power; this is provided in Reflecmedia LiteRing Kit's. The 12V mains adapter is fitted with a 4 pin XLR plug on the end of a flying lead. Insert this into the 4 pin XLR socket on the LiteRing Controller side as shown, ensuring that the plug is latched to prevent accidental removal. Once connected, always stow any excess cable neatly. For more freedom in use, the LiteRing Controller may be powered from a battery. This reduces the number of cables needed and allows the unit to be more mobile and flexible. Industry standard batteries of the Sony NP-F Mini DV pattern, as used on many Sony mini DV cameras have been chosen. The low power consumption of the LiteRing allows many hours of use between battery charges. Ensure that your battery is fully charged and slide it into the battery mount fitted on the rear face of the controller housing. Note that the battery needs to be pressed towards the mount whilst sliding towards the battery holder contacts to allow the latch to engage. To remove the battery, ensure that he controller is switched off (i.e. toggle switch in the centre-off position), depress the locking tab and slide the battery out of its holder. The ½default' supply is from the XLR / mains input. If the mains input AND battery are connected then the unit will automatically run from the XLR / mains input. For safety reasons, because of the many battery technologies available, the LiteRing Controller will not charge the battery, even if connected! NB - Reflecmedia do not provide batteries but these are available from many sources. If the XLR plug, socket or M-DV battery adapter is damaged, return the unit to your Reflecmedia dealer for repair. Chromatte Chromatte is a fabric designed specifically for use as a background for chroma key production. Unlike conventional chroma key fabrics that are usually blue or green in color, in ambient light Chromatte is Gray to the eye. The fabric contains millions of tiny glass beads that act as reflectors: when any light - such as the directional light from Reflecmedia's lens-mounted LiteRing - hits the fabric, it is returned on the same path back into the camera's lens. This retro-reflectice process means the camera 'sees' the apparently Gray fabric as a perfectly even blue or green background. Chromatte is very versatile. Due to the number of tiny glass beads in the fabric, the camera and LiteRing can move freely and work at acute angles - even when screwed into a ball, you can still key against Chromatte! Chromatte offers unrivalled benefits: Lighting The only light required to light Chromatte comes from the LiteRing. Ease of use Quick, simple, effective and consistent. Portability Reflecmedia's ChromaFlex takes the chroma key shoot out of the studio. Adaptability Chromatte drapes and panels can be custom manufactured to fit virtually any environment. Flexibility Reflecmedia's LiteRing color determines whether the production is shot against blue screen or green screen. If circumstances change and the alternative color is required, the LiteRing can simply be exchanged without any need for repainting or relighting. Space Chromatte can be installed into the largest of studios or the smallest office - there is no 'spill' in a Chromatte installation. Time Unlike conventional chroma key installations, installing Chromatte takes very little time, freeing up production time to concentrate on other elements like scene composition. Chromatte Drapes Chromatte is supplied in a range of standard sizes or custom produced studio drapes, where the fabric is backed with a black light-proof drape and hemmed with eyelets across the top for easy hanging from studio tracking or rails. Each studio drape is provided in a custom bag for easy storage and portability. BaseMatte - specialist Chromatte flooring Basematte is specifically designed for use as flooring. It is Chromatte cloth laminated to a close cell, high density, resilient neoprene rubber base to provide a flat, even and non-slip surface. It forms easily to most carpets and solid floors. When used with ChromaFlex or a Chromatte curtain, it enables the cameraman to frame full body shots. And should an accident happen in the studio, it is easy to replace BaseMatte - unlike a studio floor. BaseMatte is available in 2m x 1.4m tiles. If a larger area needs to be covered, Chromatte tape can be used to join together as many BaseMatte tiles as required. The tape can also mask cables etc.• Non-slip• Flexible & versatile• Pressure resistant• Provide a flat, even surface• Can form to existing studio floors• Can tile a floor• Easily replaceable
