This is a dedication book to the author's father, Cameron Warren, based on hundreds of letters and photographs exchanged to and from him from 1919 to 1946; the bulk of which pertain to her father's service in WWII. He was an ROTC graduate who was sent to Ft. Benning after graduation to become a tanker and was assigned to the 66th Armored Regiment; 2nd Armored Division. The letters during this period are mostly between Cameron and his girlfriend, his mother, his brother, and a few other friends and servicemembers. The letters give a detailed history of the life of a WWII soldier; Louisiana Maneuvers, Carolina Maneuvers, North Africa, Operation torch, Morocco and Tunisia; then on to Sicily; then to England; then off to France in Operation Overlord and unloading his tanks on Omaha Beach; then the Battle of the Bulge; Germany, and finally back home after helping to win the war and garner 3 Silver Stars and a Purple Heart along the way. 46 months, 29 months overseas, 6 campaign stars, and 4 combat awards. Quite a life for any father! A wonderful trip through WWII by a family of talented writers. A clean pristine beautiful book.
