Red Faction Collection (Collection Of 3 Games) (Collector's Edition) is a game compilation that comprises of three games from the Red Faction series, i.e., Red Faction - Guerrilla, Red Faction - Armageddon and Red Faction - Battlegrounds. When an entire population is threatened by a vicious alien race, who will come to their rescue? Developed by Volition, Inc. and published by THQ, Red Faction - Armageddon is a single-player/multiplayer third-person shooter video game for the PS3 console and the fourth installment in the Red Faction series. Set on the planet Mars in the near future, the storyline of this game follows Darius Mason, the grandson of Alec Mason and Samanya (Martian Revolution heroes). The surface of Mars becomes uninhabitable due to the destruction of the terraformer (the terraformer is responsible for making the planet much like Earth by creating the essential elements that a human would require to survive); this forces the humans who dwell on Mars to take refuge in underground mines. After the protagonist is tricked into re-opening a mysterious seal, the Plague, a race of diabolical aliens, are unleashed. Now, Darius, along with the Red Faction, must somehow find a way to curb the alien menace. Rated 18 by PEGI, Red Faction - Armageddon’s gameplay sees the player controlling Darius Mason as he sets out to take back cultist fortifications and to protect human colonists from malicious Martian creatures that plague the chasms and ancient mines all across the planet. This game features destructible environments. The weapons that are allotted to the player include the Magnet Gun and the Nano-Forge. The Nano-Forge reverses any damage done to man-made objects. Wielding an ability known as Impact, the Nano-Forge discharges a mighty burst of force which can sweep aliens off their feet and destroy structures. This game also introduces the LEO exosuit which allows the player to crash through structures effortlessly. A co-operative multiplayer which accommodates 4 players called Infestation is included in this game as well. The co-operative multiplayer features two modes, i.e., survival and defensive. Furthermore, Red Faction - Armageddon features the Ruin Mode which is purely to allow the player to blow loads of stuff up.
