Rainbow on the Paper Sky

A Rainbow on the Paper Sky is an exploration of the invincibility of the human spirit under apartheid. It is a story, based on an actual incident, where ANC guerrillas set up base in rural Northern Natal and continued, undetected for a long time, to train villagers in armed warfare. It is also a story of how villagers themselves, under the leadership of their chief, Ndungane, came to terms with being a community in a state of siege. The novel deals with the lives and loves of South African people, how they try to retain their humanity under astounding odds, how they cherish one another and how, with some, they finally betray each other.
