Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 is one of the latest releases in the PES series. This game functions on a new and modified version of the Fox Engine. The UEFA Europa League, UEFA Champions League and UEFA Super Cup competitions are fully licensed in Pro Evolution Soccer 2014. The sublime control and first touch features set some players apart from the rest. The TrueBall Tech feature allows players to knock or trap the ball during a pass; this can be done by utilizing the analogue stick. A newly introduced M.A.S.S. (Motion Animation Stability System) component imitates the physical contact between players within tailored animations which flow smoothly into each other. M.A.S.S. immediately reacts to every situation instead of a sequence of preset animations being triggered under certain circumstances. This component also takes into consideration factors such as the power and size of players so as to determine the rate at which players recover from stumbles and maintain possession of the ball by blocking opponents. Many new types of tackles have been implemented in Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 as well. Apart from skill and playing styles, players also have mental attributes; this new feature adversely affects players when they are having a bad game. The match atmosphere is more dynamic now because of the implementation of stunning A.I. (artificial intelligence) systems and new sound effects. Another highlight is the new Player ID system which lets users recognize players with great ease due to an accurate recreation of play and running styles. The Combination Play feature can be used to incorporate an array of diverse tactics.
