This input is designed to safely connect to the speaker outputs of older tube-type equipment, with a 16-ohms, 5-watt load resistor simulating the speaker impedance to prevent damage to the amplifier output stage. A high-frequency filter is also included to reduce hiss from noisy electronics.For added convenience, the AVP1 includes left and right RCA phono jack line inputs, which are resistively mixed to monaural. This feature is particularly useful when used with CD players and cassette recorders. The DBT-1 transformer provides a floating 150-ohm output to an easy-to-use screw-type barrier strip, simplifying the wiring installation process.The AVP1 also includes a Hum Cable switch to eliminate hum and buzz from AC ground loops between equipment.
