Popol Vuh: The Sacred Book of the Ancient Mayas Quiche

The Popol Vuh is one of the most valuable legacies of pre-Hispanic Maya thought. It is divided into four parts, which tell of the origin of the world and the creation of humans; the adventures of two demigods in Xibalba, the region of the dead, and finally gives information about the origin of the indigenous peoples of the region, their migrations, wars and conquests, followed by a chronology of their rulers.
