In the 23 lessons, we discover what happens next in the lives of several foreigners who have come to Cracow to learn Polish and in doing so also discover the country s culture, history and most interesting sites. The large amount of cultural and historical information contained within the book is a definite plus. Also worthy of note is the emphasis on communication, the broad spectrum of thematic tasks, the richness of lexis and audio material and the easily accesible way in which grammar is presented. The latter takes the form of intuitive tables as well as exercises which allow the individual to discover and understand the rules for themselves. The first lessons mainly focus on the recycling and systemisation of areas already covered, which allows for a fluid and stress-free transition from A1 to A2 level.
