Parinamam - Collector's Edition(DVD Malayalam)

Parinamam tells the tale of hardships and loneliness that the elderly have to face when they are no longer seen as a productive member of society. This heartbreaking Malayalam movie was directed by Venu and this well made drama stars thespian actors T. P. Madhavan, Ashokan and Nedumudi Venu. They are supported with brilliant performances by Shalu Menon, Archana, Matampu Kanjukuttan, Kaviyoor Ponnamma and Baby Nithya Renjith. In Parinamam, Balakrishna Marar, a recent retiree is ignored by his family and left all to himself. The film simultaneously also tells the story of four more senior citizens whose problems are compounded by their age and start feeling rejected by society at large. One of them, a former judge who is both lonely and slightly mentally disturbed, decides to head off to Kashi in search of peace. All these people have been good all their lives and you would hope that they see better days when the retire, but with the way society treats them is pitiful and painful to watch.
