Panasonic AU-XPD3 ExpressP2 Thunderbolt 3 Memory Card Drive
The AU-XPD3 Memory Card Drive "expressP2 drive" uses the Thunderbolt 3 interface to achieve high speed data transfer. The expressP2 card B series are developed as recording media for the Panasonic VariCam series camera, due to record 4K/highframe-rate video. The AU-XPD3 takes full advantage of the high data transfer performance (maximum 10 Gbps) of this media, thus achieving about four times faster transfer speed than its predecessor, the AU-XPD1/USB 3.0. When two AU-XPD3 units are daisy-chained, data can be transferred at an increased speed of 17.6 Gbps. The card slot accommodates an expressP2 card, P2 card or microP2 card (adaptor required). The AU-XPD3 contributes to speedier 4K/high-frame-rate video production workflows using VariCam. Industry's fastest offload device is designed for optimal performance with Panasonic's expressP2 B series cards Compatible with expressP2 A-series, legacy P2 and microP2 (using AJ-P2AD1G adapter) Equipped with a Thunderbolt3 interface, which is twice as fast as Thunderbolt2 and eight times faster than USB 3.0 Single AU-XPD3 offers 10 Gbps throughput and two AU-XPD3 drives daisy-chained provide 17.6 Gbps throughput, with optimized computer / network configuration One AU-XPD3 can download a 512 GB expressP2 card (AVC-Intra 4K 4:2:2 24p) in seven minutes. Two daisy-chained AU-XPD3 units can download two 512 GB cards (AVC-Intra 4K 4:2:2 24p) in eight minutes Daisy chain six XPD3 units to allow simultaneous multiple offloads, a critical time-saver for multi-camera productions Popular storage devices and the majority of current PCs and Macs support Thunderbolt3 and this ultra-fast workflow Thunderbolt3 media such as LaCie Bolt3 support the AU-XPD3 high data rates High-speed Thunderbolt 3 interface The high-speed Thunderbolt 3 interface incorporated in the AU-XPD3 is capable of transferring data at a maximum speed of 40 Gbps, which is eight times faster than the transfer speed of USB 3.0 and also supports daisy-chain connection of up to six devices. As a next-generation standard interface, it is used with many Windows PCs and Mac computers and its application is expanding widely into various products, such as hard-disk drives and other storage devices as well as Thunderbolt 2 conversion adaptors. Transfer speed of 10 Gbps reduces transfer time to 1/4 The Thunderbolt 3 interface maximizes the high data transfer performance of the expressP2 card B series. The maximum transfer speed of 10 Gbps (measured value) enables offloading of 512 GB content (AVC-Intra 4K422/24p recording of about three hours) in approximately seven minutes. Increasing transfer speed with a daisy-chain connection The AU-XPD3 supports daisy-chain connection. When two expressP2 drive units are used to simultaneously access two expressP2 cards, the transfer speed increases to 17.6 Gbps maximum. (measured value). This enables offloading of 1 TB content (about six hours) in approximately eight minutes. Supports expressP2, P2 and microP2 cards The card slot (one slot) accommodates an expressP2 card, P2 card or microP2 card (adaptor required). Thus, the AU-XPD3 can be used not only with the VariCam series but also with the P2HD series.
