The Vault uses standard Intel CPU and network ports which results in compatibility with a large variety of operating systems, including a number of open source firewall projects. The Vault is fanless so it has no moving parts, which results in an incredibly durable platform that can be used in less than ideal environments. Its all aluminum enclosure (no plastic here) is a giant heat sink, keeping the CPU cool.
The VP4670 can accommodate up to 64GB DDR4 RAM in 2x DDR4 SODIMM slots and has an M.2 NVMe 2280 SSD storage slot in addition to a built-in 16GB eMMC module. There are also standard SATA data and power connectors and mounting brackets for an optional internal 2.5″ SATA SSD.
