This large work covers many aspects of pioneer life, everything from the manners and customs of the time to sieges and conflicts between white families and Indian families. An entire chapter (close to 100 pages), is devoted to Daniel Boone and his life as a pioneer in Kentucky. Contributions of the Zane family, of Wheeling, and General George Rogers Clark are discussed. This book also focuses on the Massacre of Wyoming, Two Sieges of Fort Henry, and Pontiac’s role in frontier affairs.
