Pine Essential Oil can be obtained from many pines, but for therapeutic value, the best is that distilled from the needles of Pinus sylvestris. Sometimes the distillation involves the cones and young twigs and branches as well. Pine oil from Siberia and Finland is the most appreciated. The oil itself is colourless or a very pale yellow, and has a very strong aroma, a little camphory and quite balsamic.
