My Loving Angel

This piece is inspired by the famous putti painted in 1513 by raphael, one of the masters of the italian renaissance. This little angel is depicted in a sweet and natural representation reminiscent of the highly successful cherub of love. The intention in making this piece was to look for the greatest naturalism possible: in the pose, in the gesture, in the round fleshy shapes and above all in the flowers, which follow the same modeling as the rest of the piece. The flower held by the angel (inspired by helleborus niger) and those in the crown (inspired by violet rose cariofillacee) are natural wildflowers depicted with utmost realism. The piece is also unique in its size, and is in fact the largest cherub in the lladro catalog. Two different whites and some touches of color, in soft hues, have been used in the decoration in order to focus our attention on the sculpture and the flower.
