Monday Eucharist : Connecting Sunday Liturgy with Daily Work and Relationships

This book should be read by Catholic high school and college students, in adult education and RCIA classes, and during church retreat and renewal programs. Bill Droel of the National Center of the Laity argues persuasively that the Eucharist we celebrate each weekend only makes sense when it is tied with what we do with the rest of the week. "I contend," he says, "that the Eucharist can provide a perspective, a lens, a pair of glasses, a map, even an engine to give order and meaning to the seemingly isolated and routine events of life. My claim, of course, is invalid if Eucharist is synonymous only with Sunday worship. The Eucharist, as used here, is a Sunday-carried-through-to-Saturday dynamic-- what I call Monday Eucharist."
