Minnetonka Yacht Club Centennial, 1882-1982

From DJ Flap - A group of competitive yachtsmen met in 1882 at Lookout Point to setup up by-laws and sailing rules. In the early years the sailing was light-hearted and social. By 1888 it became more competitive. In 1890 the club began construction on the official clubhouse on Lighthouse Island. By the 1950s Minnetonka's races had become extremely competitive and less social. It remains very much alive today. (Description by http-mart)
